Sample Calculation :

 

To size your diode, consider the current your sensor requires.

For instance, if your sensor draws 100mA, choose a diode with a current rating of at least 150% of the sensor’s requirement (i.e., 150mA or higher) to ensure it handles any current surges.

  • Sensor current: 100mA
  • Diode current rating: 150% x 100mA = 150mA
