Sample Calculation :

 

Let’s assume your MOSFET’s gate capacitance is 10nF and your gate resistor is 50Ω.

The gate charge time (t) can be calculated as:

t=50Ω×10nF=0.5microseconds

This means the MOSFET can switch in just 0.5 microseconds, which is much faster than without the gate resistor.
