The LM317 device is a positive-voltage regulator that can be adjusted to provide an output voltage between 1.25 V and 37 V. It can supply more than 1.5 A of current. The output voltage can be set by using two external resistors. The device has a low line regulation of 0.01% and a low load regulation of 0.1%. It also has protection features such as current limiting, thermal overload protection, and safe operating area protection. These features work even if the ADJUST terminal is not connected.

Description

It is an LM317T Adjustable Voltage Regulator. They are designed to supply more than 1.5 A of load current with an output voltage adjustable over a 1.2 to 37 V range. The nominal output voltage is selected by means of a resistive divider. This makes the device exceptionally easy to use and thereby eliminating the need for stocking of many fixed regulators.
