Abstract:
Alcohol-related accidents are a rising concern, contributing to 2.3 million premature deaths annually due to harmful alcohol consumption. To address this, our Automatic Engine Car Stop System offers a reliable solution for preventing drunk driving. Using an MQ3 Alcohol Sensor, this system detects alcohol presence and prevents car ignition if intoxication is detected. It is an essential tool for educational projects and safety systems, especially for school science experiments and STEM learning.
Working Mechanism:
This project uses an MQ3 Alcohol Sensor to detect alcohol vapors. When alcohol molecules are detected, the sensor produces an output voltage proportional to the concentration. This voltage triggers a transistor, which activates a buzzer and LED to alert the system. The car ignition system is then stopped using a relay module.
