LEDs and lighting drivers are polarity-sensitive. Connect the power supply backwards, and the current flows the wrong way—often destroying the LED strip or controller. This is especially risky in quick prototyping or while swapping batteries.

 


✅ The Solution: Add a Diode or P-Channel MOSFET

For 1N5819 Schottky, Vf ≈ 0.3V at 1A.
